Zvonareva’s opponent on Thursday will be Agnieszka Radwanska. Radwanska entered this tournament in terrific form, but the wind may have been taken out of her sails after a 5-7, 6-2, 6-4 loss against Wozniacki. The Pole has had time to reflect on this loss though, and she’ll now be eager to get a win under her belt.
Radwanska has won her last three matches against Zvonareva, all of which took place this season. Zvonareva had been the victor in the other two meetings between the pairing, one of which occurred this year in Miami.
Having had the benefit of an extra day of rest, Radwanska could have the upper hand here. Zvonareva also has a decent chance of winning though, so it’s not exactly easy to pick a favourite for this contest.
