Britain's Laura Robson has suffered a shock loss at the hands of Sandra Zaniewska in the French Open girls' singles second round, being defeated 7-6 (12-10) 1-6 6-3.
Laura Robson, aged 15, was the top seed in the girls' French Open tournament but lost out in the early stages of the tournament to the Polish outsider.
The first set ended after Robson lost a marathon tie-break, however the youngster responded strongly to level the match with a 1-6 set.
Zanuiewska, appeared to have the advantage of considerably more experience on the trcky clay surface and it paid off as she raised her game again in the decider.
The Pole broke serve at a crucial stage to lead 4-2 and, despite Robson's spirited effort to maintain the battle, served out the set to clinch victory.
Laura Robson is the reigning Wimbledon girls' champion, and earned her top seed position in this tournament by also pulling off a good campaign in Austraia to reach the final of the Junior Australian Open.
Robson had beaten Russia's Karina Pimkina 2-6 6-3 6-3 in the first round of the girls' French Open on Monday.
Fellow Brit Heather Watson, the 13th seed, lost out 7-5 6-4 to France's Gracia Radovanovic in the first round of the girls' French Open.
