The ATP Nice semifinals take place today and one match features two solid clay courters in Tomas Berdych and Nicolas Almagro.
Nicolas Almagro and Tomas Berdych will meet for the fifth time in their careers on Friday as the two players collide in the semifinals for ATP Nice. The French Open has to be in the back of both of these players' minds as Berdych has a semifinal defense coming up while Almagro made the quarters last season.
Berdych enters their match in Nice with a 3-1 lead on head-to-heads and all of their previous matches have come on clay.
Almagro, whose best surface is clay by far, has generally had trouble with Berdych with their last meeting coming from ATP Dusseldorf 2010.
The winner between the two of them will face the winner between Alexandr Dolgopolov and Victor Hanescu in Saturday's final from Nice and by most measures that looks to be a relatively easy final for either Berdych or Almagro.
Dolgopolov and Hanescu meet not Before 1:50 PM (CET) on Friday with Almagro and Berdych to follow.
