Betting tips for Belluci in 2010.

Thomaz Bellucci of Brazil won an ATP title at the Movistar Open last week and as a result he moved up the ATP tour rankings.

With the tournament victory and the accompanying 250 tour ranking points, Bellucci is now ranked 28th in the world and still only 22 years of age.

There are certainly players on tour that are both younger and better than Bellucci, but let's look at his Grand Slam odds for the upcoming Slams in 2010 anyways, just in case he's a late bloomer:

French Open: +20000 (200/1), Stan James
Wimbledon: +95005 (about 950/1), Betfair
US Open: no lines found

Bellucci fell in the second round of the Australian Open to Andy Roddick in January and he, Bellucci, has not experienced any significant Grand Slam success so far in his career.  He has only contested 7 Slams for singles so far and his record is 4-7 in those tournaments.  He's talented, but as far as Brazilian tennis goes, Bellucci is no Gustava Kuerten.

Bellucci, however, DOES appear to have a future in the top 10 as he is currently ranked 28th and improving (he had a title in the latter half of 2009 as well).

At this time Bellucci is a player to watch closely and the best betting angle on him is for individual match upsets.  If he draws aging players that are ranked high like Radek Stepanek, Juan Carlos Ferrero, Lleyton Hewitt, Fernando Gonzalez, Tommy Haas, or Tommy Robredo then Bellucci can be risked for individual upsets.

Those are the players he should be passing in the rankings in the next couple of seasons and you might get nice odds on Bellucci in matches against those players on tour.

As for as Slams go, don't bet Bellucci to win any soon but if he keeps playing well, come Wimbledon and the US Open, you might want to sprinkle him when quarter betting options are available.

Go to Stan James to bet on ATP tennis.
