Thiemo De Bakker takes on Evgeny Korolev for a place in the semis of the Pilot Pen Tennis.

Twelth seed De Bakker has battled through two three setters so far, defeating Mikhail Kukushkin 6-1, 6-7, 6-4 and then eighth seed Florian Mayer 6-7, 6-1, 7-5. It's the Dutchman's first quarter-final since April. He has had good wins in Washington, Cincinnati and Toronto over the past month, beating players like Feliciano Lopez and Juan Monaco but with such strong draws he hasn't been past round two.

The unseeded Russian Korolev is yet to drop a set. He defeated thirteenth seed Michael Berrer 6-4, 7-5 in the second round. Korolev is playing his first tournament of the summer on hard but seems to have made the adjustment pretty quickly. This is his first ATP quarter-final of 2010.
