Sergiy Stakhovsky goes for his second ATP title of the year against Denis Istomin in the Pilot Pen Tennis final.

Stakhovsky claimed the Unicef Open title on grass in June and he is hot favourite to lift this title after a superb series of wins. He stunned Tommy Robredo and Marcos Baghdatis before sweeping aside Thiemo De Bakker 6-3, 6-4 in the semi-finals, dropping just ten points on serve.

Stakhovsky tends to be very clinical when he gets to the latter stages on tournaments, in all four of his previous appearances in ATP semi-finals, he has gone on to lift the title.

Istomin is not quite that experienced and is bidding to become the first Uzbek player to win an ATP title. He has made huge strides in 2010 and his forceful game will make him a dangerous floater on the fast hard courts of Flushing Meadows next week. He toughed out another three setter to see off Viktor Troicki 7-6, 3-6, 6-2, prolonging the Serb's wait for his first ATP crown.

Istomin and Stakhovsky have played four times in the past, mostly in challengers. Istomin has won three of those matches and triumphed in Tashkent last year, 6-4, 7-5.
