Serena Williams recorded a simple victory, thashing Roberta Vinci 6-3 6-4 to reach the last 16 at Wimbledon.

Serena Williams, the Wimbledon champion in 2002 and 2003, beat the Italian who couldn't do anything to stop the bookmakers favourite for the title.

Serena, who lost to her sister Venus in last year's final, will play unseeded Daniela Hantuchova in the fourth round, after the Slovakian beat her doubles partner Ai Sugiyama in straight sets.

The end for Vinci eventually came after an hour and seven minutes, with Williams ending the match with a killer ace.

It was a useful work-out on the grass courts for Serena, who showed signs she is close to finding her best form ahead of the second week at Wimbledon.

The latest and best odds for Serena Williams to clinch victory at Wimbledon 2009 are 13/8 from Bet365. If you place a Wimbledon bet with Bet365 you are granted access to their live streaming service which is showing over 200 live free matches of Wimbledon.
