Sam Stosur makes her return to the tour against Sara Errani at the Pilot Pen Tennis in New Haven.

Stosur has been forced out for the past three weeks with an arm injury and badly needs matches ahead of the US Open. The Aussie will be among the top eight seeds in New York for the first time and her coach feels that the medium paced hard courts are the perfect surface for her game but in order to be properly match tough, she needs a good run this week.
Italian Errani will certainly make her work for this one. The world number 35 is a gritty counter-puncher who will make Stosur hit a lot of balls. However she has not had a great deal of success in North America, winning just two matches in San Diego, Cincinnati and Montreal.
They have played just once before, Stosur winning 6-3, 6-2 at the Olympics two years ago.
