Sam Stosur plays Francesca Schiavone in the round-robin stage of the WTA Championships on Tuesday.

It's a repeat of the French Open final back in June when Schiavone memorably claimed her first slam title with a battling 6-4, 7-6 win over Stosur who had played the tournament of her life, taking out Justine Henin, Serena Williams and Jelena Jankovic on the way to the final.

The Aussie has not lived up to those heights since and she looked flat during the Asian indoor swing over the past few weeks, losing in the first round of Tokyo and Beijing and in the Osaka quarters.
If she can get her big hitting game to click this week, she could be a real threat with her power on the fast paced Doha courts but she has looked fairly burnt out over the past month.

Schiavone is not particularly comfortable indoors but she put in solid showings in Tokyo and Beijing, making the quarters of both tournaments and although she's unlikely to stop Wozniacki or Dementieva reaching the knockout stages, she is our pick to beat Stosur on Tuesday.
