Malisse scored one of the upsets of the tournament by rolling back the years and taking out second seed Novak Djokovic 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 in a match delayed by rain. Malisse took full advantage of his opponent’s discomfort in the blustery conditions and played some fine tennis to send Djokovic crashing.

He will fancy his chances against the big serving Querrey who has yet to be properly tested in the tournament. The American does not have a huge amount of grass court pedigree so on this surface he is a decent quarter-final draw.

In the first couple of rounds Querrey has benefited from playing opponents who are not that comfortable on the grass either, in Robby Ginepri and Marcel Granollers.

Malisse is a good bet to score another upset here and reach the semi-finals.
