Sam Querrey bids for a quarter-final berth against Ryan Sweeting in Delray Beach today.
Querrey needs to get back on track soon as he has plenty to defend over the next four months. The lanky Californian made waves during the first half of last season, picking up four titles and breaking into the top 20 but he's done precious little since.
His hard court campaign has been pretty underwhelming so far. He began the year with first round exits in Sydney, Melbourne and San Jose. Things picked up a little in Memphis where he made the quarters but was outplayed convincingly by Mardy Fish.
The Delray Beach draw is fairly weak and Querrey's half of the draw is wide open after Andy Roddick's late withdrawal. However in his current form it's hard to see him getting past the likes of former champion Kei Nishikori or sixth seed Janko Tipsarevic.
However you would expect him to beat qualifier Sweeting who stunned Igor Andreev in round one. Sweeting is ranked 118 and spends most of his time on the challenger circuit and has won just two ATP main draw matches since last summer.
