Sam Querrey takes on Michael Russell in the first round of the Toronto Masters later today.

Querrey got his North American hard court campaign off to the best possible start two weeks ago, beating Andy Murray to win the Los Angeles title.
He suffered a disappointing early exit to Janko Tipsarevic in Washington last week but after several days off he should be back refreshed for these back to back Masters Series events.
Querrey needs to step up and perform in a big event like this, something he has not really done before despite enjoying plenty of success in the smaller tournaments. He has not been handed an easy draw with Rafa Nadal a probably third round opponent.
Russell came through qualifying at the weekend but he is not expected to give Querrey to many problems. Querrey has won all three of their previous matches including a 6-4, 6-3 win in San Jose earlier this year.
