The German is now the only seeded player left in the competition, and she’ll have her sights set firmly on the title.
Lisicki’s opponent on Saturday in the final four will be Anabel Medina Garrigues. Medina Garrigues was handed a retirement victory against top seed Marion Bartoli in the quarter-finals, as Bartoli injured her right ankle towards the end of the second set. The match finished 4-6, 7-6(7), 1-0.
Looking forward to Saturday’s clash, Lisicki commented, "I've never played Anabel before, so I'll have to see how the first couple of games go. Obviously I'm going to go in playing my game and fighting for every point, but I'll also have to see how she is playing."
