Federer and Murray had their eye on advancing to the semis with wins on Thursday.
Roger Federer and Andy Murray were the top two players in the Group B heading into the 2010 ATP World Tour Finals and they both were looking to advance to the semis today.
Federer faced Robin Soderling and Murray faced David Ferrer and the results are now in for both matches:
Federer d. Soderling: 7-6(5), 6-3.
Murray d. Ferrer: 6-2, 6-2.
There were no upsets in Group B as it remained true to the pre-tournament expectations and ended as follows:
- Federer 3-0
- Murray 2-1
- Soderling 1-2
- Ferrer 0-3
In Group A nothing has been decided with absolute certainly however Rafael Nadal has a clear edge to make the semis while Tomas Berdych and Novak Djokovic are in the hunt for the second seed in the group. Tomorrow will feature Nadal vs Berdych and Djokovic vs Roddick, with Roddick, at 0-2, the least likely player to advance.
