Roger Federer, afflicted by a minor groin injury, had to pull out of this week's Gerry Weber Open in Halle, Germany where he was scheduled to face Lleyton Hewitt in the first round.
There are two tournaments next week on the ATP Tour, one in Eastbourne and one in Den Bosch, and perhaps the Swiss Maestro could use one of those to prepare for Wimbledon as they are grass court events. However according to Federer's schedule at
RogerFederer.com the world number three will not be competing in any events until the All England Club hosts first round Wimbledon matches later this month.
The starting date for Wimbledon is June 20th and fans of the Swiss Maestro should look for him to play his first round match that day or on June 21st or June 22nd. If any news develops regarding a change in his schedule (ie. he enters Eastbourne) we will update that information however Fed typically takes the week off immediately prior to a Grand Slam event.
The draw for Wimbledon will be available on June 17th.
