Federer is flying high right now after re-asserting his dominance of the tennis world with his Australian Open victory in January.
The Swiss had been hoping to return to the tour in Dubai a couple of weeks ago but was kept out with a lung infection which has thankfully now disappeared.
Federer will be determined to do better in this tournament having suffered surprise defeats for the past few years since he last won it in 2006. Last year it was Andy Murray who took him out in the semi-finals and the pair could collide at that stage again.
