The top two players in the world will meet on Sunday in the finals of the 2010 ATP World Tour championships.
Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal will resume their rivalry for tennis supremacy on Sunday at the 2010 ATP World Tour Finals as the top two players in the world will meet at the O2 in London in the championship final at 17.30 GMT.
Federer, who has played better than Nadal at the Finals, is favored to win but if he prevailed it would go against the historical trend for these two players as Nadal is 14-7 against the former world number 1.
Even so, the case for Federer is his very recent form and Federer fans can feel good about their player's chances of winning.
It's true that both players are 4-0 in the tournament but Federer's form looks more like the form he had during the summer of 2009 as opposed to the form he had between March and July of this season. Where Nadal has dropped 2 sets in 4 matches played, Federer has gone a perfect 8-0 in sets played and there may be just a hint of weakness in Nadal's game right now - a weakness that only Federer can exploit.
However Nadal's case, besides his 14-7 heads up record, is that he's winning nearly all of the big points in the matches he's playing. When he is against the wall, he is near flawless and it must be pointed out that Nadal is also 5 years younger than Federer.
If fatigue starts to creep in at any point in the championship match, then you'd have to think that Nadal would have a slight edge and due to that he is my predicted winner with all sets close.
