Stan James are running a prop that looks like it could have really good value in the betting market.

Stan James
are posing a question and if you think you know the answer then you have an opportunity to make some money.

Will there be a new (first time winner) French Open Men's Champion in 2010?

Yes, +333 (33/10)
No, -500 (1/5)

If you are selecting "No" you are betting that someone who has won the title before, will win it again.  That pretty much limits the "No" side of the bet to either Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal.

The only other players that will likely be in the field at Roland Garros in 2010, with a previous title there, will be both Juan Carlos Ferrero and Gaston Gaudio (he'll get a wild card).  Neither of those two players can really be expected to take down a Slam at this point in their careers, Federer and Nadal pretty much constitute the "No" side.

If you take the "Yes" line then you are betting that this year's French Open champion for men's singles will be a first time winner.  Here are a few tough clay court players that could accomplish that feat this year, all of which have a winning history at the French Open:

Juan Martin Del Potro
Robin Soderling
Gaels Monfils

However, to be clear, you would get the entire field of players besides Gaudio, Ferrero, Nadal, and Federer.  That field would also include top players like Novak Djokovic, Nikolay Davydenko, and last year's semifinalist Fernando Gonzalez.

The list of impressive players that you would be backing are enough to give +333 for the "Yes" line value, especially since Federer is starting to drop a lot of matches and Nadal had his streak of Roland Garros success broke last year (and he hasn't been the same since).

Our recommendation is to bet the "Yes" line at +333.
