Article looks at the draw for ATP Indian Wells from both Federer's perspective and Raonic's perspective. Staff writer believes that the two will face in the 4th round.
Milos Raonic and Roger Federer are two of the noteworthy achievers so far in 2011 on the ATP tour and if their form holds up the two players could collide in the 4th round of Indian Wells.
Raonic, who is just 20 years old, is being tipped for the top five by many and time is certainly on his side. Federer's Grand Slam results have certainly dipped in the last year however the Swiss Maestro still turns in top notch results in ATP events and that makes a Raonic vs Federer round of 16 match at Indian Wells likely in my opinion.
Federer has a bye through the first round and so to get to the 4th round he would likely have to go through Kei Nishikori and then Juan Ignacio Chela. Nishikori is another up-and-coming player however he's not likely to stop Federer and neither is Chela.
Raonic, who does not have a bye, has an easy first round match against Marsel Ilhan with a second round match looming against Mardy Fish, a player Raonic has already beaten once this year. After that Roanic would likely have to beat Jeremy Chardy of France to make the fourth round and based on the Canadian's form you would have to like his chances.
If all of those events went according to the script above, then Raonic and Federer would meet in an anticipated fourth round match and my pick would be the young Canadian.
