Roger Federer and Andy Murray could meet in the Indian Wells semi-finals if all goes to plan over the next week.

Neither Federer or Murray have too much to fear from their draws. Marcos Baghdatis could give Federer a workout in the third round but he should come through unscathed until the quarter-finals where he’s likely to take on Andy Roddick.

The last time they played was that titanic Wimbledon final where Federer somehow managed to deny the American his dream yet again. Roddick secured his second win over Federer in Miami two years ago but since then Federer has simply gone on to beat him four more times and has now won 19 out of their 21 matches.

Murray should be cruising into the last eight with maybe Ivo Karlovic or Acapulco winner David Ferrer forcing him to raise his game in the fourth round. However things could get interesting if he takes on Jo-Wilfried Tsonga or Robin Soderling in the quarter-finals.

That looks to be the biggest obstacle to the Federer-Murray semi-final repeat of last year. Soderling is in the form of his life and Murray does not like playing Tsonga, one of the few players on tour who can just blast him off the court if he plays too passively.
