Roger Federer has the shortest odds in the futures market for the 2010 Australian Open, however Andy Murray has now emerged as the second favorite.

Here are updated odds as the field has been trimmed down to 12 players, mid-way through the fourth round.

3.  Rafael Nadal, +550 (11/2), Sportingbet.
4.  Novak Djokovic, +700 (7/1), Sportingbet.

6.  Andy Roddick, +1400 (14/1), bet365.
7.  Marin Cilic, +1800 (18/1), Boylesports.
8.  Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, +2500 (25/1), Sky Bet.
9.  Fernando Verdasco, +4000 (40/1), Boylesports.
10. Lleyton Hewitt, +15000 (150/1), Sportingbet.
11. Nicolas Almagro, +50000 (500/1), Boylesports.

In the above list you can scratch Kubot, Almagro, and Cilic off as contenders.  Almagro and Kubot are probably delighted just to be in the fourth round while Cilic, already a quarterfinalist, doesn't look like he is ready to win a Slam yet.  If you got him pre-tournament at +3300 then you're happy to see him through to the quarters and with a winnable match against Roddick, however he still has to win three matches against the toughest competition there is.

Djokovic and Murray are the players to watch.

Djokovic appears to be the player with the easiest draw through to the semifinals as he has Kubot and then likely Tsonga in the quarters.  Those two players are long shots to win the Australian Open and Djokovic is poised to knock them both out.  Look for Djokovic to be fresher in the semis than whoever he faces as he has had an easy enough draw at this year's Aussie.

Murray is a good bet if you get him at long enough odds.  Anything around +300 to +350 you'll have to avoid, but at +450 (9/2) with Sportingbet, he can be topped up as his form in defeating Isner was impressive.
