Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic were in action on Tuesday as they each opened their 2011 ATP Dubai draws. Both players had efficient wins as Federer bested Somdev Devvarman of Indian while Djokovic beat Michael Llodra of France.
Federer's first serve percentage was 67% on Tuesday and he won 83% of the points on that first serve on his way to a 6-3, 6-3 win. Devvarman, a player with little power, was not able to put up a competitive effort against the world number 2.
Federer is on the Order of Play for Wednesday February 23rd and he will face Marcel Granollers of Spain as part of the evening session.
Novak Djokovic, in his match, swept aside Michael Llodra in straight sets at the 2011 ATP Dubai event as the Serbian barged his way into the second round with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over the French national.
Djokovic had four aces in the match and his first serve percentage was 65% as he continued his fine form that saw him win the 2011 Australian Open.
Llodra had little to offer in terms of competition as he failed to convert any of the 3 break point opportunities he found himself with.
Next up for Djokovic is a somewhat tricky match against Spaniard Feliciano Lopez. Those two players are set to meet in the second round of Dubai as part of Wednesday's evening session (not before 7pm Dubai time).
