Australian Open final pits the Slam-less Murray against the man who has won more than anyone else.

Roger Federer and Andy Murray are the two players still left standing as the 2010 Australian Open final approaches.

They will square off from Melbourne on Sunday, in a match that starts at about 3:30am ET (12:30am on the North American west coast).  Federer, as expected, has come in as the favorite in this match as bet365 have him priced at -175 (4/7) while Murray is priced at +160 (8/5) with Boylesports.

In what is anticipated to be a competitive final, Murray's odds appear to be more valuable.

Andy Murray has a winning record against Roger Federer as he, Murray, is 6-4 heads up against the Swiss Maestro with all ten of those matches having been played on the hard court surface.

Roger Federer, it should be pointed out, has won the last two matches over Murray, having defeated the Scot most recently at the ATP World Tour Finals in London.  Also, Federer defeated Murray in their biggest match, the 2008 US Open final, the only match between the two players that can be compared to the match at hand in terms of pressure and magnitude.

However, Federer has not won a tour title since way back in Cincinnati, a victory that was several months ago now - back in August.  Since that title, Federer has twice lost in the finals of events that he had a history of winning.  He fell to Novak Djokovic in Basel and more famously, Juan Martin Del Potro took Fed out of the US Open final in five sets.

With 2010 possibly being the year that we see a big shuffle in the top 5, the stage is certainly set for Andy Murray to win the 2010 Australian Open.

Although both players have displayed impressive form in recent rounds, Murray has the better odds and he is our recommended bet to win the final.
