Ryan Harrison has walked a tight wire at the French Open so far this year as the American saved a match point in the very first round of qualifying about a week ago. A few days ago Harrison failed to save a match point in the final round of qualifying as he suffered a straight sets loss to Javier Marti of Spain.

However, despite falling in qualifying, Harrison is still in the main draw of the 2011 French Open as a lucky loser as Benjamin Becker has pulled out of Roland Garros ahead of his scheduled match against Robin Soderling.

Harrison and Soderling have met in one match before, a contest that took place earlier this season from ATP Brisbane. Soderling had little trouble with the then 18 year old Harrison as the Swede eliminated the teenager 6-2, 6-4.

Harrison, however, is probably a more dangerous opponent than the aging Becker as the American is a more driven player at this point. After losing in the final round of qualifying to Marti, for example, Harrison flung his racket into a nearby tree on the outer-courts at Roland Garros, an act that is somewhat immature but still reflects a degree of passion that one would not expect from Becker at this point in his career.

Soderling and Harrison are scheduled for Court Suzanne Lenglen on Tuesday in the third match of the day from that court. The stadium has already started as of 11am CET.
