Richard Gasquet is in action against Wu Di as France take on China in the opening tie of the 2012 Hyundai Hopman Cup.
Group B looks pretty even with Australia and Spain also fielding strong sides so a good start will be crucial. France are seeded second and with Gasquet and Bartoli they will fancy their chances of reaching the final.
Gasquet may have struggled throughout his career when competing down under (he's never been past the fourth round of the Australian Open) but the former world number seven should be a class above Wu.
He enjoyed a solid 2011 season to reach the top 20, reaching the fourth round of Wimbledon and the French Open as well as scoring a win over Roger Federer en route to the semis of the Rome Masters.
In contrast, 20 year old Wu is ranked 422 in the world and although he's a Davis Cup regular for his country he's likely to be outclassed in each one of his matches this week. He got a taste of the ATP Tour during the Asian swing in the autumn, losing 6-2, 6-0 to Marin Cilic and Ryan Harrison.
Prediction: Gasquet to ease through in two.
