Richard Berankis looks to upset Andreas Seppi and move into the final of the Ethias Trophy in Mons.
Berankis is rated highly as one of the next big things in world tennis and he started 2011 superbly, reaching the third round of the Aussie Open but he was injured between March and July and he's currently trying to find the form which took him into the top 100.
He produced a classy performance to see off seventh seed Nicolas Mahut 6-1, 6-3 in the quarters. Berankis has great feel and soft hands enabling him to neutralize Mahut's huge serve and dart the ball around the court, outlasting the Frenchman in the rallies and exposing his movement.
Seppi on the other hand is extremely lucky to still be in the tournament. The second seed was up against home favourite Steve Darcis on Friday night but in front of a supportive Mons crowd, Darcis found himself serving for the match before completely crumbling to lose 3-6, 7-5, 6-0.
This will be a much tougher match for Berankis as Seppi is so strong in the rallies. If Berankis can keep his serve firing he will have a chance and Seppi will need to be far more consistent than in the first set and a half against Darcis as Berankis will no let him off the hook so lightly.
Prediction: Seppi in three.
