Ricardas Berankis is set for a tough first round clash at the Bratislava Challenger on Tuesday against Adrian UngurYou can watch and bet on the ATP Bratislava Challenger live for free at bet365 > live tennisThere’s a strong field of players at this year’s Bratislava Challenger, and even Ricardas Berankis, the world No. 108, hasn’t been seeded here. The Lithuanian was in action last week in Geneva, and he’ll be a little disappointed not to have made the final after unfortunately losing to Mischa Zverev in the final four (1-6, 7-6(5), 7-5).
The Lithuanian’s first round opponent will be Adrian Ungur of Romania. Ungur has hovered around the top hundred over the last few weeks, though he’s never managed to get his ranking above No. 113. This has been an encouraging season for the 26 year-old, and he’ll be looking to end the 2010 season with a bang here in Bratislava.
Berankis and Ungur have never previously met in ATP competition. It should be fascinating to see who comes out on top here. Both players are of similar stature, and all of the pre-match indicators suggest a close battle.
