ATP Munich, ATP Belgrade, and ATP Estoril have all crowned their 2011 champions.
Novak Djokovic, Juan Martin Del Potro, and Nikolay Davydenko are the three most recent ATP titlists.
Djokovic won his home country's event this past week as he defeated Feliciano Lopez in the final for Belgrade (Serbia Open). With the win Djokovic picks up his 5th title of the season and his 23rd career title. The victory will not lead to a ranking change as the Belgrade event was at the 250 level however Serbia's top player has some clear momentum heading into the Madrid Masters.
Juan Martin Del Potro is back into the winner's circle as the Argentine picked up his second title of the season at ATP Estoril. Del Potro won on the hard courts of Delray Beach earlier this year and with the win in Portugal he now has 9 career titles. Del Potro entered Estoril ranked 46th in the world and with the title, which he earned with a convincing straight sets victory over Fernando Verdasco, Delpo promises to get close to the top 30 on tour with Monday's ranking update.
The final titlist of the week came from ATP Munich (BMW Open) where Nikolay Davydenko stopped Florian Mayer of Germany in front of a partisan German crowd. The title in Munich is the 21st of Davydenko's career and it injects some momentum back into the Russian's efforts as his results were subpar since returning from a wrist injury in 2010. Davydenko entered Munich ranked 40th but he now threatens to be seeded in Roland Garros later this month.
Upcoming on the ATP Tour: the 2011 Madrid Masters (May 2nd to May 8th).
Djokovic, Del Potro, and Davydenko are all in the draw.
