In the last 8 months, Nadal's ranking has always been at least in the top 3 however he was faltering so often against top 10 players that Nadal was, at one point, considered a slight underdog in a heads up match against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (Nadal won).

Rafael Nadal will now go head to head against Nikolay Davydenko in the final of the Qatar Open in Doha in what is an important match, not just directly for the ATP title, but for implications in the futures market for the Australian Open.
