Rafael Nadal takes on the in form Tomas Berdych in the Indian Wells quarter-finals.

Berdych has literally been on fire for the past couple of rounds. He annihilated Fernando Verdasco 6-0, 6-3 in the third round and repeated that yesterday against poor Viktor Troicki who only managed one more game than Verdasco.

Both Verdasco and Troicki have helped Berdych’s cause with huge numbers of unforced errors. Nadal will not be quite so generous.

The defending champion was pretty much written off before this tournament but he has been quietly impressive and is now odds on to defend his title. He coped well with the serving blitz John Isner threw at him in the fourth round and looks sharp.

Berdych had plenty of success against Nadal early on in his career but since 2006 Nadal has hit back, beating the Czech five times in a row.

Nadal did not drop a set against Berdych in either of their two matches last year so our recommendation would be go for him at 3/10 with bet365.
