Nadal is not normally known for his big serving but it was a notable feature of the top seed's game during his first round win over the plucky Teymuraz Gabashvili. If Nadal is landing big serves regularly it bodes extremely well for his chances as at the US Open at the past he's been found a little toothless against the big hitters.
Istomin has made big strides in 2010 and last week he reached his first ATP final in New Haven. The Uzbek reached the third round at Wimbledon, pushing Tomas Berdych to five sets and he has the game to pose Nadal real problems though it will be a major surprise if he pulls off an upset.
They played on grass at Queens in June and Nadal was highly relieved to get through 7-6, 4-6, 6-4. Look for the Spaniard to come through this one in four sets.
