Rafael Nadal has revealed that he believes Andy Murray stands his best ever chance of winning Wimbledon.
Nadal was due to face Murray in the semi-finals and knows he would have faced one of his toughest games at Wimbledon if he was to defend his trophy at the All England Club.
Following his withdrawal from Wimbledon due to knee tendonitis, Nadal had nothing but praise for the way Murray has worked his way up to No.3 in the world.
"He's in a very good position because he won at Queen's and he's the No.3 in the world." said Rafael Nadal.
With Nadal missing from the grand slam event, Murray has a realistic chance of reaching the final with both Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic in the other half of the Wimbledon draw.
Andy Murray is currently the second favourite with bookmakers to win Wimbledon, standing at latest odds of 2/1 from Ladbrokes.
Rafael Nadal, 22, feels Andy Murray will be full of confidence as he looks to become the first Brit since Fred Perry in 1936 to win the Wimbledon Men's title.
"I don't think Andy will be worrying about the semi-finals." said Nadal
"He's a very good player and we will see how he gets on during the tournament." Nadal added.
