Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are fast approaching 10million fans on their individual Facebook pages as they continue to be two of the most popular athletes on the social networking website.
Nadal currently has around 9.5million fans, while Federer is slightly ahead at 9.7m, and both are ranked in the top 10 of most popular athletes on Facebook.
Maria Sharapova, with 6.4m fans, is ranked 13th.
And it isn't just the individual players who are seeing their fanbases increase online as tennis enjoys a boom period thanks to the likes of Nadal, Federer, and world No. 1 Novak Djokovic.
The ATP World Tour's Facebook page this week passed the 800,000 mark, while the Facebook page for
Live Tennis, which provides news and match previews, has reached 40,000 followers in a matter of a few weeks.
While Nadal and Federer are the two most popular tennis players on Facebook, they are still some distance behind the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, who is currently the most 'Liked' athlete on Facebook with nearly 40m fans.
