Recaps the men's semifinals from ATP Indian Wells as Roger Federer played Novak Djokovic and Juan Martin Del Potro faced Rafael Nadal.
The finalists at ATP Indian Wells have been set as Rafael Nadal, the reigning US Open champion, and Novak Djokovic, the reigning Australian Open champion, look to meet in the championship match on Sunday.
Nadal advanced with a routine straight sets victory over Juan Martin Del Potro 6-4, 6-4 while Djokovic defeated Roger Federer 6-3, 3-6, 6-2.
With the result in the Federer vs Djokovic match, the Serbian will rise up to world number two on Monday as Federer falls down to third.
Del Potro will make a huge jump as he will be ranked in the top 60 with his semifinal appearance as he was idle at this time last year with his wrist injury.
Sunday's final between Djokovic and Nadal cannot directly determine the number one ranking on tour as Nadal has that firmly secured for the time being. However with Djokovic undefeated so far in 2011 many are starting to call him the King of the Hard Courts and should he beat Nadal heads up in the final match, that would further substantiate the title.
