Nadal faces Tommy Robredo in what might be his best opportunity to upset Nadal.

Rafael Nadal and Tommy Robredo, both Spaniards, are set to clash in the third round of the BNP Paribas Masters.  With Federer losing, will Nadal follow?

Tommy Robredo has never beaten Rafael Nadal in their 5 head to head matches.  Not only that, but Nadal has taken all 11 sets off of Robredo while the two have only gone to one tiebreaker.

Over a day ago ago we were looking at a pretty similar situation with the Nadal vs Nicolas Almagro match.  Almagro was 0-4 against Nadal and Almagro never took a set off of Nadal.  However Almagro had a breakthrough performance against Nadal today as he, Almagro, took a set down and actually held match point FIVE times without converting.  Nadal pulled through in the third set but the subpar performance against a player barely in the top 30 should lower your confidence in Nadal.

Tommy Robredo is a better player than Nicolas Almagro and may be poised for the upset.

Our recommendation is to take Robredo to beat Nadal with bet365 or Paddy Power.  The odds of +400 (4/1) for Robredo to win are long enough to gamble on given Nadal's less than re-assuring second round performance.

If you aren't going to take Robredo in this match because of their head to head series at least avoid Nadal in the future's market for this event, even at long odds.
