Radek Stepanek will be hoping to keep his run going against Viktor Troicki in the New Haven quarter-finals tonight.

It has been a bizarre week for Stepanek who initially lost in the final round of qualifying at the weekend. However the Czech received a lifeline when Mardy Fish pulled out at the last minute, granting him a lucky loser spot. In the main draw Stepanek has been transformed, knocking out third seed Fernando Gonzalez in straight sets and then Victor Hanescu 7-6, 6-7, 6-4.
Tenth seed Troicki will have been pleased with a 6-7, 7-6, 6-2 third round win over dangerous Ukrainian Aleksandr Dolgopolov. Troicki has been a big hope for Serbian tennis for several years now but he's yet to make that big breakthrough into the top 20. 2010 has been an average season so far for him, some decent results but he's never really caught fire.
Troicki beat Stepaenk 7-5, 6-1 in Cincinnati last week, his first win over the Czech in four matches. However now Stepanek has some wins under his belt he will be a much tougher proposition so do not be surprised if he gets revenge.
