Serbia face Germany and Sweden take on the USA in the Power House World Team Cup on Monday afternoon in Dusseldorf
In Monday’s action at the Power House World Team Cup, host Germany looks to secure a Blue Group win over ’09 champion Serbia while the U.S. and Sweden meet in a Red Group tie.
Leading off on Centre Court 1 is top German Florian Mayer, who comes in this week a career-high No. 21 in the South African Airways 2011 ATP Rankings, against Viktor Troicki of Serbia. Mayer has won two of the past three meetings and this will be their third encounter this year. Troicki won in the semi-finals of Sydney in January and two weeks ago Mayer prevailed in three sets in the first round at the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament in Madrid. Mayer is coming off his first ATP World Tour Masters 1000 quarter-final in Rome last week (l. to Murray). Troicki helped Serbia to the team title here two years ago and was a member of his country’s winning Davis Cup squad last year.
In the next match, the highest-ranked player in the field, No. 5 Robin Soderling of Sweden, takes a 4-0 career mark against American Sam Querrey in a Red Group match. Two years ago they met here in a round robin match and the Swede won 6-2, 6-2. On Centre Court 2, American John Isner and Swede Christian Lindell meet for the first time. Lindell, a 19-year-old who is playing in his second career ATP World Tour tournament (’10 Bastad), is ranked a career-high No. 322 this week. He’s played mostly Futures and Challengers in his short career. Isner and Querrey won the Rome doubles title on Sunday by walkover as Andy Roddick withdrew due to a right shoulder injury.
