Potito Starace faces the challenge of Pablo Andujar in the second round of the Movistar Open

Potito Starace will compete with Pablo Andujar on Wednesday for the right to take part in the quarter-finals of the ATP Santiago Open. Starace is the fifth seed here, and will enter this match as the favourite. He’ll be hoping for a more assured performance today, following his three-set struggle against wildcard Paul Capdeville in round one.

Andujar got his campaign off to a flying start with a 6-4, 6-4 win against Peter Luczak earlier in the week. The Spaniard finished last season with a number of lengthy runs in clay court competitions, and has the ability to give Starace a serious challenge. On the other hand, it’s worth noting that Starace has a 4-0 head to head record against Andujar. All of their previous meetings took place on clay.

The winner of this match will potentially face David Nalbandian in the quarters. Nalbandian will face Carlos Berlocq today in the first round, and will then meet Horacio Zeballos in round two if he pulls through.
