Petzschner is the top seed this week, and he’ll be glad to gotten through such a tricky contest unscathed.
Petzschner’s next challenge will be a semi-final clash against Jan Hernych of the Czech Republic. Hernych has dropped out of the top two-hundred, but he’s still a potentially difficult opponent. The 32 year-old needed just under seventy minutes to get past Federico Delbonis in the quarter-finals (6-4, 6-3).
Petzschner took on Hernych twice in 2008, beating him on both occasions. Neither contest was one-sided though, and the world No. 61 won’t be anticipating an easy win on Saturday. Even so, Petzschner has been a regular feature on the ATP World Tour this season, and he should be able to make it three in a row against his experienced opponent.
