It’s a repeat of the Queens club final as Andy Murray takes on James Blake.

Andy Murray is gaining rapidly in confidence again after winning in Valencia last week. It may have been quite a small tournament and Murray was the top seed but there is nothing quite like a title for raising your spirits after a tough couple of months.

Thankfully Murray’s wrist problem seems to have just been a temporary issue as the Scot has been having few problems with it in the past couple of weeks.

"I practised for about a week before Valencia and I didn't have any problems then I played five matches there, which was good,” he said. “It's not been too bad in any of the matches that I've played. I've been icing it and seeing the physio every day and it's getting a lot better."

Murray is now eyeing a deep run here to get more matches under his belt against tough competition ahead of London in a couple of weeks time.

“With each match back you gain a little bit of confidence and once you get to the latter stages of the tournament you start to believe you've got a chance of winning,” he said. “I want to try and play as many matches as possible (in Paris) so I'm match tight going into London. Last week was a great start and I'll try to play a few more here."

Blake will want to have something to say about that. The American has slipped down the rankings to 41 and apart from that week on the grass in June where he made the Queen’s club final, he’s had a poor year. He lost in the first round of Wimbledon and the French Open and went out again at the first hurdle in Basel last week. However if things go his way Blake knows he has the potential to hit Murray off court. He had his moments in his 7-5, 6-4 defeat to the Scot in June and he’s come close twice against Nadal in recent weeks.

Murray was playing quite passively last week in Valencia but he should have enough to get past Blake and is 1/8 favourite with Boylesports. Sporting bet have Blake as a firm outsider at 6/1
