Brits Katie O'Brien and Elena Baltacha are both just one victory away from qualifying for the French Open after both women recorded victories on Thursday.
O'Brien, 23, faces Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus, while Baltacha goes on to face off with top seed Yaroslava Shvedova of Ukraine.
O'Brien and Baltacha are hoping to make it four British women in the main draw after Anne Keothavong and Mel South were given direct entry into the tournament, the first time two British women have done so since 1992.
Britain's two representatives in qualifying for the men's French Open have both been knocked out.
