Fish has never had much success against Novak Djokovic and the American cannot be feeling all that optimistic about his chances heading into ATP Miami's semis.
Novak Djokovic and Mardy Fish are half of the semifinalists in the men's single's draw at ATP Miami Masters (Sony Ericsson Open).
Regarding Fish, the American has done well to make the final four in Miami as he survived a section of the draw that had Robin Soderling, David Ferrer, and Juan Martin Del Potro.
However Fish cannot have much confidence heading into his semifinal against Djokovic as the two players have met five times in the past with Djokovic taking down all five of those matches.
Four of the matches played between the two in the past were on the hard court surface with Fish going just 3-13 against Djokovic in sets played.
Most will be calling for Djokovic to make the final, something most were calling for as soon as the draw was released with Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer on the other side.
Those two players will meet in what promises to be a more competitive match as the only thing that can be expected between Fish and Djokovic is a win for the current world number two.
Fish and Djokovic are scheduled for Friday with the following details provided by the Order of Play:
