Novak Djokovic plays Lleyton Hewitt in a crunch Hopman Cup tie on Tuesday.
Djokovic struggled a little in his opening match against Andrey Golubev, needing three sets to see off the fast improving Kazakh player. He admitted afterwards he was still suffering a little from jetlag but Hewitt will have noted a few encouraging signs.
Hewitt has plenty of experience of the Hopman Cup having reached the final several times in the past but he was pleased to get the ball rolling in 2011 with a straight sets win over Ruben Bemelmans.
This is as good a chance as he will get to catch Djokovic cold and with Alicia Molik a distinct second favourite against Ana Ivanovic in the opening rubber of the tie, he could need to win this one to keep the match alive.
Djokovic and Hewitt have fought out some epics in the past but the Serbian star has always had the edge, leading the head-to-head 4-1. They met just once in 2010, Djokovic ending Hewitt's Wimbledon campaign 7-5, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 at the fourth round stage.
