The US Open is set for a Monday final for the third year in a row after rain wiped out two days this week and top seed Novak Djokovic is not a happy man.
Once again, the second week of the US Open has been blighted by the weather leading the tournament organisers to drastically revamp the schedule. All semi-final matches will now take place on Super Saturday with the women's final on Sunday and the men's final on Monday to give the players sufficient rest.
It was altered to prevent the likes of Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray having to play a possible four matches in four days.
However Djokovic decided to have a little moan after Thursday's quarter-final win over Janko Tipsarevic, arguing that moving the final to the Monday could affect his Davis Cup preparations. Serbia begin their semi-final against Argentina in Belgrade on Friday morning.
There was a similar scenario last year when Djokovic found himself competing against Rafael Nadal on Monday night and was forced to miss the opening day of Serbia's semi-final with the Czech Republic, an eventuality which nearly cost them the tie.
However some cynics are wondering whether Djokovic is actually a little peeved that his main rivals in the other half of the draw are being given a chance to recover.
