Djokovic is the top recommendation for the 2010 Australian Open title.

There are several players to be mindful of in men's tennis as the first Grand Slam of the year, the Australian Open, approaches.

Some of these players will be playing matches in the next week as the short tennis off-season comes to a close.  Here are the current and updated odds for the favorites heading into the 2010 season, keeping in mind that these are likely going to be changing in the next little while as match results start pouring in again:

1.  Roger Federer, +240 (12/5), Boylesports
2.  Juan Martin Del Potro, +500 (5/1), Blue Square
3.  Andy Murray, +550 (11/2), Boylesports
4.  Novak Djokovic, +600 (6/1), Sportingbet
5.  Rafael Nadal, +700 (7/1), Boylesports
6.  Nikolay Davydenko, +1600 (16/1), Paddy Power
7.  Andy Roddick, +3300 (33/1), Sportingbet
8.  Marin Cilic, +3300 (33/1), Sportingbet
9.  Robin Soderling, +3300 (33/1), Sportingbet
10. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, +4000 (40/1), Paddy Power

Presently we are still backing Novak Djokovic as the best pick to make.  He has odds that could lead to a nice payday, he has won the Australian Open before, and many are tipping him for the top in 2010.

Keep an eye on Rafael Nadal leading up to the Australian Open however.  He has matches coming up in Abu Dhabi and those might provide some insight into whether or not his odds of +700 have value.
