Nicolas Almagro faces Tommy Robredo in the second round of the Copa Claro in Bueno Aires.
Top seed Almagro took his winning streak to seven matches and moved to within a couple more wins from his second successive title with a 7-5, 6-3 win over wildcard Jose Acasuso. Acasuso has fallen on hard times recently but it was still a notable win on clay.
Robredo's victory was far more surprising. Having not beaten David Nalbandian since 2006, not many expected the Spaniard to usurp Nalbandian on his home turf. However Nalbandian looked surprisingly flat and the 2009 champion eased to a fairly comfortable 6-4, 6-4 win.
These two have been the form players of the Golden Swing so far with one title apiece. However Almagro has won both his previous matches against his countryman. They met in Bastad last summer and Almagro completely outplayed Robredo 6-1, 6-3.
Robredo is in better form now but Almagro in straight sets is still our pick for tonight.
