Na Li will take on Sabine Lisicki on Thursday as she continues her charge for the Wimbledon title

Recently crowned French Open champion Na Li got her Wimbledon campaign underway this year with a comfortable 6-3, 6-3 win against Alla Kudryavtseva, and remains amongst the main contenders for this year’s title. Li might not have had everything her own way against Kudryavtseva on Tuesday, though she dealt well with the Russian’s serve and relatively flat groundstrokes.

Li will now be looking to string together a good run of results, as she aims to reach a third successive Slam final. 2011 has been a superb year for Li, and her match record of 28-9 stands out as one of the best in top level tennis this season. Her next match here at the All-England Club will be a second round contest against world No. 62 Sabine Lisicki.

Lisicki is ranked well below Li, but shouldn’t be written off. She won her tournament opener against Anastasija Sevastova in emphatic style (6-1, 6-1), and will surely be hoping to give the third seed a run for her money. To add to this, Lisicki may be feeling particularly confident ahead of this match, having beaten Li earlier this season in Stuttgart (6-4, 7-5).
