The Scot is hoping to maintain his current standard of play and make a big impact here in Paris and at the end of the month in London.
"I thought it was a decent start," said Murray of his opening contest in Paris. "I didn't lose my serve. I don't think he had any break points, so that was good. But I can definitely play better, and I'll need to."
"After taking a break, things feel a little bit different. You're not quite in the rhythm you were a few weeks ago. Hopefully I can build on today's win. Maybe if I get through a couple of rounds, I'll feel that momentum."
Murray’s next match will take place on Thursday. He’s set to take on Andy Roddick in what could be an absolute thriller of a third round showdown.
