bet365Andy Murray saw out a tough 7-5, 6-4 victory over an in-form David Ferrer on Sunday to win the prestigious Shanghai Rolex Masters title. Murray, who has now won 25 of his last 26 matches, has been playing incredibly well throughout this year’s Asian swing, and he’s won three titles in a row.
The victory also allows Murray to leapfrog Roger Federer in the ATP World Rankings. This will be the first time that the Swiss ace ranks outside of the top three in over eight years. Murray has also expressed his desire to close in on the top two, and recent performances suggest that he could have a very memorable season next year if he can continue playing to this standard.
The Scot will now be turning his attentions towards the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals. With the season finale being played in London, Murray has his sights set on giving the supportive British crowd something to cheer about. On a personal level, he’ll be looking to get his hands on this title for the first time in his career.
