Murray mania hits as more bets have been placed on Andy Murray to win Wimbledon than on the rest of the field combined, report Ladbrokes.

Andy Murray the Queen's Club victor, is 5/2 second favourite for the Wimbledon title with Ladbrokes, having been as big as 16/1 after last year's championship.

Ladbrokes spokesman, Nick Weinberg, commented on the high volume of Andy Murray Wimbledon bets: “Our customers are gripped by Murray mania. The British ace is the only man in town as far as punters are concerned for Wimbledon betting.”

Another market that's interesting Andy Murray fans is the sports personality of the year award, Murray is 7/2 to be crowned the sports personality of the year 2009, again with Ladbrokes.
